GENERAL PROVISIONS

Any reservation made with Motel Long Lake & Cottages (MLL&C) and any use of the Motel Long Lake & Cottages Website (the website) is governed by these Terms & Conditions.

By using the website or making a reservation, whether made by email, telephone, online or any other means, you attest that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

MLL&C is not liable for acts and omissions of third parties that may assist with or make your reservation, including but not limited to Online Travel Agencies or other intermediaries. Any interactions with such third parties are governed by the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policies of those parties.

RESERVATION PROCEDURES AND POLICIES

1. Agreement and Consent to Rules

By making a reservation with MLL&C you agree that you have read and consent to all house rules.

2. Booking and Confirmation of Reservations

Reservations may be made by telephone, email, online, or directly through the MLL&C office. The office or the online booking engine will contact you with confirmation of your reservation via email. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have received confirmation. Reservation confirmations are provided to you solely for your convenience. MLL&C retains records of reservation transactions, including details of dates of stay, unit reserved, and pricing details. In the event of a discrepancy or variation between a confirmation and the records, MLL&C’s records shall prevail. Tampering with this confirmation to alter unit, pricing details, or any other reservation information is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action from MLL&C.

3. Prices

Any prices and fees listed on the website, in print materials provided by MLL&C or given by phone for any services or products provided by MLL&C are subject to availability and are subject to change without prior notice. NY state and Hamilton County sales tax will be applied as required by local government.

4. Payment

You must provide credit card details to secure a room, cottage, boat, or other reservation. Reservations requiring deposit must pay a security deposit of 50% of the total charge. Credit cards held on file may be used by MLL&C for payment of a deposit or balance as advised at the time of booking or as a guarantee for a future payment, in the case of a missed reservation (no-show), a cancellation or change to the reservation. Payment for reservations must be made in full at the time of check-in.

5. Arrival and Departure

Check-in and check-out dates and times are listed on reservation records and the website and are provided in your confirmation for your convenience. Early check-in and late check-out privileges are subject to availability and will only be accommodated when possible. Any guest wishing to extend their stay must contact the office prior to check-out time on the final day of their reservation. MLL&C may offer guests who ask to extend their stay a different unit to the one in which they were originally accommodated. At check-out, keys must be returned to the office. Lost keys will be subject to a replacement charge.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

Any cancellations or amendments to an existing reservation must be made by contacting the office through email or by phone. Cancellations are governed by the description listed on the website sections describing rental details and in your confirmation. Cancellation policies are subject to change without prior notice.

7. Absence and Guarantee Rules

For reservations guaranteed with a credit card at the time of making your reservation, rooms are held until check-out time on the day following the day of arrival. Missed reservations (no-shows), will be considered cancellations at check-out time on the day following the day of arrival. MLL&C may authorize charges prior to arrival and reserve funds, including taxes, on the credit card to determine the validity of the credit card. Reservations booked with an invalid credit card are subject to immediate cancellation.

8. Special Requests

MLL&C will strive to honor any special requests and will confirm such arrangements at the time you make your reservation if made by phone. Until the MLL&C office issues specific confirmation, your request cannot be guaranteed by MLL&C.

9. Parking

MLL&C offers a limited number of parking spaces. You are responsible for parking following marked spaces and any direction from staff. Parking is at your own risk in all respects, and MLL&C assumes no responsibility in the event of an accident, theft or damage to person, car, equipment, and effects in the vehicle.

10. Pets

If you plan to bring your pet with you to MLL&C, you must read and agree to the separate Motel Long Lake & Cottages Pet Policy. The Pet Policy will apply to your reservation and forms part of these Terms and Conditions. MLL&C accepts no responsibility or liability for pets. A separate pet fee will be defined by the current price list and is subject to change without prior notice. MLL&C reserves the right to charge separate cleaning and damage fees in accordance with the Pet Policy and at its discretion.

11. Storage of Valuables and Luggage

For security reasons, MLL&C is not obliged to store any items that could endanger the safety of staff or Guests. MLL&C accepts no liability for valuables. You are encouraged to lock any doors and not to leave valuables or luggage unattended.

12. Guest Safety

You must always locate emergency exits and fire extinguishers. In the motel rooms, you will find directions on escape routes in case of fire inside the room near the entrance door.

13. External Services

All information on the website or otherwise communicated by MLL&C regarding external services does not constitute any endorsement or recommendation of the external service by MLL&C and is for general guidance only. Links to other sites on the website are provided solely for your convenience.

MLL&C makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the nature, quality, cost or any other aspect of the external services and it is your responsibility to check all relevant details of the external services with the independent supplier prior to purchase or booking.

MLL&C will have no liability to you for the warranties, representations, acts, errors, omissions, breaches or negligence of any independent supplier or for any accidents, personal injuries, death, loss of or damage to property or any other losses, damages, costs or expenses resulting, directly or indirectly, from your purchase or use of any external service, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws.

It is your responsibility to check that, where appropriate, the independent supplier has adequate public liability insurance for the external service and/or to ensure that you and any dependents or associates using the external service have adequate personal insurance cover against all foreseeable risks.

14. Guest’s Obligations

You agree to the terms and conditions of purchase imposed by MLL&C. You also agree that you are fully responsible and shall pay for all charges, fees, taxes, and other amounts arising out of your reservation when due, including additional taxes and fees that may not be included in the quoted rate.

You understand that any violation of MLL&C policies may result in cancellation of your reservation and you forfeiting any monies paid for such reservation and MLL&C debiting your account for any costs it incurs because of such violation.

15. Privacy and Data Protection

Our Privacy Policy (set out below) will apply to your reservation and forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

16. Intellectual Property Rights

Any copyright and other intellectual property in the content and materials on the website remains with MLL&C. Downloading, copying or otherwise using any material on the MLL&C website is permitted only for private use and limited to the sole purpose of making an MLL&C reservation.

17. Force Majeure

MLL&C will not be liable for any change or cancellation of any reservation that is caused, in whole or in part, by events, occurrences, or causes beyond the control of MLL&C. Such events, occurrences, or causes include, without limitation, acts of God, terrorist activities, weather, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, fire and explosions.

2. Information Collection

Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at Motel Long Lake and Cottages. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. All identifiable information provided will not be disclosed to anyone unless we are specifically requested to do so. Motel Long Lake and Cottages does not give or sell to anyone any information we collect on our site.

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

To provide and operate the Services;
To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;
To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;
To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;

At Motel Long Lake and Cottages, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline.

Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
