Legend has it that the word "vacation" was coined here in the Adirondacks. During the 19th century, the wealthy elite of New York and Boston would "vacate" the heat and humidity of city life in favor of the clean mountain air....
Motel LONG LAKE
through the years
Located in the most sparsely populated county east of the Mississippi River, the hamlet of Long Lake sits in the center of New York's Adirondack Park.

The motel building was built in the 1950s, and the property was originally owned by the Mulwane family. At the northern end of the property is the house that once served as their restaurant, complete with stairs going down to the lake. Over the years, many small cottages were added.

Stanley and Dana Stryszowski took over as the fourth owners of Motel Long Lake & Cottages in 2008 and began extensive renovations. Their work has included renovating the motel building, adding to and modernizing infrastructure on the property, renovating and in some cases enlarging the cottages, adding several new buildings, and much more.
ABOUT US
We came to the U.S. from Poland in the mid 90s with hopes for building a better life for our family, and we found that life in NYC. In 2008, we excitedly added Motel Long Long to our life.
Since then we have sough to continually renew and enrich this classic little Adirondack resort. With the help of our children, Lukasz, Kinga, and Tom and their families, we continue to enjoy working and playing here in upstate New York.

We're ever thankful for the many guests who have become our friends here at Motel Long Lake & Cottages.
